Emma finishing her AKC Championship
Ann showing Ch. Logos Impress at Nipigon "Emma"

Welcome to Nipigon Poodles established in 1989.  My name is Ann Wheeler and I am proud to have bred 15 miniature and standard poodle AKC champions, with more pointed and currently showing. In addition, I have finished 6 additional AKC Champion poodles bred by others. I am an active member of the Poodle Club of Tulsa and am in good standing with the American Kennel Club. I am an avid participant in the sport of purebred dogs and welcome the opportunity to help those new to the sport. I have personally mentored several newcomers to poodles and have participated in AKC-Sponsored Events to educate the public about responsible dog ownership.

My poodles have been successful show dogs, beloved companions and performance competitors. My poodles are the center of my life - my daily life revolves around loving and caring for them. I only breed my finished champions to provide a new showdog for me, I do not breed for profit. Breeding poodles is a labor of love and takes tremendous knowledge, dedication and integrity. I am committed to preserving and improving health, structure, breed type and temperament as defined by the American Kennel Club and the Poodle Club of America Breed Standard for the Poodle. I health-screen my miniature poodles used in my breeding program, including Optigen DNA tests for PRCD PRA, CERF and OFA Hip evaluations. The joy my poodles give me, coupled with the wonderful relationships with other poodle people, have enriched my life immeasurably. I enjoy showing my own dogs, including the grooming, presentation and travel this entails.

Though I have concentrated on my standard poodle breeding program for many of my years in the fancy, I have returned to the miniature poodle showring, and have been fortunate to find several extraordinary miniature poodles with which to continue my miniature poodle family. Our heartfelt thanks to the breeders of these beautiful poodles; Linda Grossman, Ann Kennedy, Katherine Kennedy, Mary Ellen Fishler and Wendy Penn.
